My 2nd Generation pencil does not pair with my IPad Air 4th generation

I have an 2nd generation pencil and when i pair it with my Ipad Air 4th generation the bluetooth disconnects automatically.

I need help on how to fix this, i have reset my Ipad severally still having the same problem

my pencil won’t connect to the iPad Just yesterday my pencil worked and connected to my iPad (air 4) but today when I trued to use it it wouldn’t respond. So I cheack for updates and everything was fine. I checked to see if I just needed to reconnect it so I forgot it in Bluetooth, but when I tried to reconnect it I didn’t show up. I thought it might be an issue with the blue tooth so I tried connecting a new set of headphones, and it worked. So now I don’t know why to do.
