Clearly Apple Wallet is guessing based on prior transaction history to attribute incorrect merchant to a transaction geolocated nearby.
This is even after a transaction is cleared - not just pending. And I tested it with another person - and it worked fine.
I occasionally see this too, usually w/ the same vendors.
Sometimes it’s almost comical.
Was your “ticket” reported using the Report “Incorrect Merchant Info” from within wallet’s transaction screen?
(I’ve never tried it myself, just wondering if you had)
I did report it - which escalated via Apple Pay /Wallet via Apple Card - and they filed a ticket. no word yet. I also filed a ticket with Stripe - even though this is clearly not a Stripe issue - I want them to formally file a ticket with Apple engineering. I can't believe Apple hasn't resolved this yet.
I understand the frustration.
AppleCard and wallet can give great early allertment of fradulent transactions.
These “mis-identified” merchants - presenting a “false positive” for fraud - DO cause a bit of unnecessary angst …
… until one “backtracks / re-constructs” their movements to determine the true source of a particular transaction.
