MacOS 12.3.1 renders Mac unusable

I know this is nothing the community can do about, just wanted to report: I have installed macOS 12.3.1 on my macMini with M1 processor. All went well, but after a new log-in, it logs me out after about 30 seconds. I cannot work at all.

I have disconnected the machine from power for about 15 seconds, reconnected it and powered on after another 5 seconds to enter the recovery mode. Then, I had to re-install macOS.

I will now make sure not to re-install 12.3.1 until a stable version has come out.

Meanwhile I was able to fix it.

  1. Shut down --> long press power button --> disk utilities --> erase hard drive
  2. re-install macOs
  3. re-activate Mac
  4. Restore a time-machine that lies before the installation of 12.3.1

Meanwhile it works again as expected. Overall, a tedious, time-consuming operation on a Mac that I have in use for three weeks only so far.
