Mac Studio status light remains on during sleep
Just received my Mac Studio Max today. When I put it to sleep, the status light remains on. On my old Mac Mini, the status light went off during sleep. Is this normal for the Mac Studio Max?

Apple says:
During sleep
When your Mac sleeps, the SIL pulsates on and off slowly. On Mac mini models introduced in 2018 or later, the SIL stays on when the computer is in sleep. You can customize your Mac's sleep behavior in the Energy Saver or Battery pane of System Preferences.
On Mac notebook computers, if the battery is completely depleted and the computer goes into Safe Sleep, the SIL doesn't illuminate at all.

It may be that this article has to be revised to says the SIL on the Studio behaves like the later Mini's

If it's normal behaviour I think this should be changed. The light should dim or pulsate slowly during sleep. Apple ?

I think the light is a good idea since you know it is on and doing things in the background since the M1 Macs are really on all the time. If not light then maybe it got unplugged accidently or some other problem.
I can see that. The light on the Apple Studio is much bigger and brighter than what I would prefer though. I think it could have been half the size and much dimmer and did the same job. Not sure what you mean on all the time. My Mac Studio goes into a low power mode when it goes to sleep. I can see it on my UPS wattmeter.
Entirely normal for any modern Mac with a light. Do not understand why a light is even needed at all if it no longer indicates sleep.
Thanks for the info. Now I know.
What I meant to say, the Status light is on all the time while in sleep mode. If I turn the computer off, the light goes off.
I wonder if they stopped the pulsing during sleep, so users wouldn't so readily notice how often SLEEP IS NOT WORKING.
;-)
That has been my assumption for years.
