Are there pencil tips that are less slick or slippery, ie more like writing on paper?

I find the pencil tips and the screen of my iPad (Gen3) too slick to write on well. I tried a screen cover (PaperLike or some name like that). I didn't like the gray cast it gave the screen. Plus I had a devil of a time getting it one cleanly with all of the cat hair in my house (basically I didn't). Anyway, I found it less than satisfactory both on aesthetics and I can't say I liked the performance all that much. So, are there alternative Pencil tips out there anyone can recommend? Thanks.
