Mac Studio bluetooth very slow to load at startup. Is this normal?

I have a new Mac Studio (M1 Max) paired with a Magic Mouse and Magic Keyboard with Touch ID. When I start up the Mac Studio the keyboard and mouse take ages to connect to the computer via Bluetooth. I have to wait around 30 seconds or more before I can type in the user password or move the mouse. Is this normal for this computer?

Same with my M1 Max Mac Studio. I tried turning off/on BT and using a different mouse but the same problem persist. The same mouse would work fine on my 2014 Intel iMac. I do note that the M1 Mac Mini and M1 24 inch iMac in my house both have a ~ 3 second lag upon initial connection. I note similar issue with the Mac mini and 24 inch iMac at the local Apple Store. So, M1 Macs do have a delay in BT connection.

Back to my M1 Max Mac Studio. I reinstalled the OS but the same problem persist. I do note that if you click the mouse, the mouse would then connect in about 3-4 seconds. It seems the computer is waiting for a BT signal before it wakes up. I worked with Apple's senior advisors several times over the phone but they can't fix it either and send the info to the engineers higher up. By that point, I was fed up with it and returned the Mac Studio to the local Apple Store.

I bought another M1 Max Mac Studio just now, hoping that it was an isolated issue. Guess what!! Same problem! Without stimulating the computer with a click, the connection lag can be over one minute!! That's when I realized that I better do a different search online to see if others share the same issue. It seems this is inherent with Mac Studio.

As of 6/5/22, I updated my Mac Studio to Monterey v12.4 and now the Apple BT keyboard and Magic Mouse are connected as soon as I'm offered the input box for my password to log into the computer! :) On a side note I cycled the File Vault before updating, but it didn't fix it for me like a couple others, but could be that the combination of that and the update to 12.4 were vital. Anyway, this is the Mac experience I've known since switching back in 1997. I used to work for Apple service in the mid 2000's as well, so I am well informed. Even so, sometimes it's beyond your control, till it isn't. lol Cheers!

*** Hi All. I have some interesting findings as of today. ***

I do not believe this is hardware related / specific to the Mac Studio. I have a 2020 27" i9 iMac for my work and was recently required to bring it up to date for network security reasons. I was running Big Sur up till this point and had no issues with late mouse pairing over BT. After updating to Monterey 12.3.1, I now have the same issue with it as I do my Mac Studio. It's taking close to or over a minute to connect the mouse. So, while this isn't great, it certainly is better than a hardware or firmware issue and once Apple decides to address it, should be a much more simple / quick fix.
