iphone sync stuck on "preparing to copy items".

This began with the iOS 15.4.1 update to my iPhone 13. I have run out of things to try

unable to sync iphone 14 pro max with macbook pro Unable to sync iPhone 14 Pro Max with Macbook Pro. Sync starts on the Macbook says "Syncing (Step 2 of 4) - Preparing to Sync". Sync NEVER completes. I have to reboot my iPhone and my MacBook. I can take a iCloud backup and it shows and I can take a backup to the MacBook Pro without any problem. I just can not SYNC the iPhone to the MacBook Pro.

Restart the device. That's it.
