Custom ringtone not working in messenger

I set a custom ringtone but when I get a call on Facebook Messenger it uses the default ringtone

Ringtones changing to default when I change the ringtone for a contact on my iPhone my iPad automatically changes the ringtone for that same contact to a default. These are ringtones I have made. I can see it happening real-time. What can I do to keep this from happening?

Messenger is not an Apple product. Contact the app developer here --> App Support or Messenger Help Center | Facebook
