iOS 15.4.1 mail not loading on iphone

Since the 15.4.1 IoS update, my emails are not arriving on my iPhone 13 pro unless I refresh the mail app. Also, no notification of mail sound. They're also taking an age to sync with my MacBook. I don't where to look in my settings that I haven't already tried, or is it the update and there's nothing I can do other than moan to Apple?

Same here, two map accounts, two different models of phone (iPhone 8 and SE2) both with the same problem since updating to 15.4.1 = Very annoying.

C'mon Apple, this is a basic feature of all smartphones - stop adding more complex stuff and fix the basics.

Subsequent to my post, I’ve been on the phone to Apple support (Twitter DM seemed to work) but lovely and patient as the advisors are they were unable to resolve. Final advice seemed to be it’s a Gmail problem, contact them. Which I did to no avail of course. Alternative advice if nothing works was to go back to them to remove 15.4.1 with the warning that it might lose data as well as features. It seems pretty clear to me that it is a 15.4.1 issue that presumably only affects certain setups or everyone would be having the problem, but that Apple haven’t yet identified what it is yet or what the remedy is. I’m assuming by this point that it will be resolved by an update - and not using my iPad for email!

It's not a Gmail problem, it's an Apple problem. I have two completely different providers running IMAP email with the same problem. Mail for these accounts ahas been working reliably since the year dot - on both Apple iPhones / iPads. This problem is since 15.4.1 and (for me) is affecting IMAP (as exchange accounts seem ok). C'mon Apple, what's being done about this?

Thanks, but I've done all that, several times over, and it doesn't work. Plus other fixes suggested by Apple Support on two long phone calls. My wifi is fine otherwise as is my broadband internet provider. My email is Gmail accessed through Mail which was fine previously, and which is still fine on my MacBook. I don't use the Gmail app for privacy reasons. The issue only occurred when I updated to 15.4.1 on my iPhone. It was still ok on my iPad until with some trepidation I updated that to 15.4.1 too, and then the same problem arose the minute I opened Mail. Hence I don't think it's too farfetched to suggest that the update had some role in precipitating it. Meanwhile I have a useless iPad as far as email goes. All suggestions welcome though.

I cannot buy a new iPhone now therefore I'm still on iPhone7. iOS recently updated to 15.4.1.

I too access email through Mail being two Gmail accounts and one AOL account. I do not use an app for either Gmail or AOL.

I have fought a problem long before the recent update in that one of my Gmail accounts disappeared. The other Gmail account works as it always has and both were added at the same time some years ago. Both work without issue from my PC laptop connected to wi-fi hot spot as well as the AOL account. I have not added nor used any other email than the three mentioned.

When attempting to add the Gmail account that disappeared back via Mail I get this message : "Your browser has cookies disabled. Make sure cookies are enabled and try again."

On my iPhone 7 I use Safari browser and sometimes Firefox. I've used Safari since purchasing the iPhone and added the Firefox app later. I had no issue with the missing Gmail account but now unable to add it back. I've done as the message suggests numerous times to the point I give up, the same fix I have read on Apple website support making sure cookies are enabled on both Safari and Firefox browsers to no avail. I reset the IPhione truning off and back on, reset neetwork settings, all Ii can think to do and check the cookies enabled . Again, the other Gmail account works flawlessly as well as the AOL account having been set up via Mail. Suggestions? Incidentally , I've even enabled cookies on the Firefox browser on my PC thinking something bizarre there has caused the issue. Nope.

As an update, I just set up Spark on my iPhone to test, and Gmail is fine on it while still glitching on Mail. Not being tech savvy I’m not sure what this signifies, but I don’t really want to switch from Mail as I have years of email records filed ‘On My Mac’ in the desktop version, since I use email to keep dated notes.

Well my phone is a 2020 SE. It may be Apple’s ‘budget phone’ (I like it because it fits in my pocket when I’m hiking) but at 2 years old I would assume that recent updates are expected to work on it. And after and hour and a half’s phone conversation with Apple support which didn’t resolve the problem the last advice was to see if it settles down and if not to get back to them on the same ticket and they’ll talk me through removing the update, with the proviso that I will lose data as well as the problematic non-functionality. So far I haven’t taken them up on it but that was the offer.

I've temporarily given up on Mail and am using Spark on which Gmail works just fine. I still use Mail on my MacBook to file emails, but Spark to read and respond to them on my iPhone and iPad. Spark is better designed than Mail in some ways, but I'm still kind of hoping that Apple will realise there's a problem even if it doesn't affect everyone, however can't wait for a solution any longer and it's taking up way too much head space.
