Can't update studio display

Apple's release notes on the firmware update didn't say anything about camera improvements. I suspect that will come in the future.

I did find this statement in the release notes amusing (?), "Minor stability improvements". Getting stability improvement updates for my monitors is going to be a new thing I guess.

Have you found a fix for this, I have the same issue.

Same problem here - tried unplugging everything, power cycled the monitor. Still did not work. I'd say it gets about 2/3 of the way through - where it says "Preparing".

I am the same. MacBook Pro 14" 2021. Tried safe mode etc. No change except the message now says to ensure the monitor is connected.

Anyone else found that along with firmware update not working, Studio Display not showing up in "Devices" in iCloud account?

Is it supposed to show up in your iCloud account?

Same here. Following. Hopefully they can fix it server side. I brought my display in the US but am using it in a country where it's not launched. Not sure the Genius Bar would know what to do yet.

Could it be that I'm using a third-party TB cable instead of the one that came with it? The one that came with it is a bit too long and hangs down.

Yes, it's not in my devices. Should it be? Maybe that's related to the update issue. Has anyone had this display long enough to have a previous update work successfully, or is this the first?

I don't think so. You don't sign into the display, so how would it register?

I managed to install 15.4 on the ASD when I got mine 2.5 weeks ago, still it doesn‘t show up in my devices (not then, not now).

I guess it's not supposed to, which is odd. Looks like you got 15.4 in before they stopped signing. Were there camera improvements?
