Software. Mac App Compressor services can't be started

After the update yesterday to macOS Monterey 12.3.1 we have a problem. Every time I try to start the Compressor App it fails by this: Compressor services can't be started.

SwampConfigUpdater: couldn't create directory "/Users/Shared/Library/Application Support/Compressor", error = 13 (Permission denied) Please resolve the issue and relaunch Compressor.

We have tried everything but nothing seems to help. Remove the app, Reinstall etc etc.. Just can’t use Compressor anymore on my Mac pro (end 2013) Any help appreciated.

The folder is on your OS drive like Macintosh HD. In Finder go to Users/Shared/Library/Application Support/ for that drive. Click on add new folder. You may be asked for your Admin or Log In password. Type Compressor to add the new folder in Application Support.

Had the same problem too. Several hours with German support nothing helped. What I have done:

  • Removed the Compressor Application
  • Deleted: Library/Application Support/Compressor
  • Manually created folder: Users/Shared/Library/Application Support
  • Reinstalled Compressor
  • Checked filesystem. No problems found.
  • Reitstalled Mac OS Big Sur (last possible OS on iMac Retina 5K, 27'', ultimo 2014)
  • Again removed and installed App, removed and created folder...

Nothing helped.

Any further ideas? Any help appreciated.

I gave all users and folders permission. >No, can't think of any. It's a real mystery after 3 days of frustration. The only good news is that Compressor on my Laptop Mac Pro works. Not going to install Monterey 12.3.1 on this one. Afraid that nothing works after that. It's still so annoying that Compressor on my most important Mac won't work.

I did everything deleted the folder in the library deleted it and made a folder on shared application support next to the adobe folder. When I start Compressor it makes a new folder again on the wrong place and doesn't work.

Also restarted the computer after deleting the folder but it stays making the new folder on the wrong place and doesn't work...

Don't know hat to do next???

I have a NEW, 32 gig, 1TB MacBookPro M1 and Compressor does not work at all; WHAT a shame! Fast processor, expensive NEW Apple and an Apple software, that needs this power and does not work... WHO is testing these programs at Apple? Probably NOBODY... and we are the pro-community... This is the EROOR MESSAGE: SwampConfigUpdater: couldn't create directory "/Users/Shared/Library/Application Support/Compressor", error = 13 (Permission denied) Please resolve the issue and relaunch Compressor. Can anybody help? Tried all below... Thanks!
