My Monterey update isn’t working. The computer has virtually frozen. I have tried turning off and on as hours have gone by. What can I do?

I seem to be unable to update with OS Monterey. My iMac freezes. I have reboot a couple of times since hours have gone by. What to do?

Try restarting in safe mode followed by a normal restart.
