Trackpad slow to connect at startup on M1 Mac

I just got a Mac Studio (replacing a 2015 iMac). When I startup and get to the login window, I have to wait about 10-20 seconds before the trackpad becomes active and I can click to enter my password and login in.

On my iMac, there was no lag at all.

FWIW, I don't think this is because the Studio gets to the login window that much faster. And I am guessing it is not a hardware problem with my particular Studio (which is otherwise working fine).

So, my questions are: Has anyone else seen this symptom? And is this something that can be "fixed"? if so, how?
