Why are there two version of Apple Maps displayed?

Anyone knows why there are two different versions of Apple Maps being displayed?

The more detailed green one is from my MacBook Pro while the "older" one is from my iPad Pro. All devices have been updated.

The same difference can be seen between my friend's iPhone and mine as well. Hers has the updated one while mine is still the more "grey" one. All iPhones run the same iOS15.4.1

iPhone 12 Pro Max, iOS 15

Hi chromas,

Thanks for contacting Apple Support Communities!

We understand that your Maps between your iPad, MacBook Pro and iPhone each look different.

When comparing the screenshots you've shared, it looks like you have different views in each. For example, the map view on top is in 3D while the map below it is in 2D.
