Google Maps won't show on Carplay Dashboard

Hello.

When I open Google Maps in CarPlay, it won't populate on the Dashboard (the split screen that also shows the audio). Apple Maps remains active on the Dashboard. From what I understand, whichever app you open (Waze, Google Maps, Apple Maps) is supposed to automatically show on that dashboard and whichever app was opened last is supposed to stay in the dashboard. However, no matter I do, Apple Maps is the only navigation that will populate on the Dashboard.

I tried restarting my phone. I also tried to remove Apple Maps all together. When I did that, the Dashboard view would not show at all. My iphone's software is up to date. Prior to this week it worked fine.

However, last week I restored my phone from a backup due to a different issue. I plugged my iPhone into my Mac to add music to my iPhone. When that happened, my music got all messed up (songs added, songs removed, etc). I restored from a backup to see if that would fix the issue (it didn't), but since then I am also having this CarPlay issue.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
