Error 1110 - iPhone Memory Full / Apple product improvement recommendations
After experiencing this issue and seeing the Apple recommended solution to basically reset your phone, I have been disappointing and shocked. I've also lost a whole day of time trying to fix a phone that should never have this issue and ended up buying a second phone in the same time to restore an old backup to as I tried to fix my original phone. Apple can make nice products but they can't seem to provide a fix for the device storage getting full issue. This is rendering people's phones useless when they need it most. In my case I was traveling and taking lots of photos and unable to make a backup easily.
A fix exists for this problem (costs about 80 USD when I purchased it yesterday) from a 3rd party group which saved me. Apple doesn't recommend it though. I won't say the name of the fix as will probably get deleted if I do.
I hope for other's sake Apple (1) directly address the storage getting full issue to prevent it happening - e.g. lots of warnings at >95% full and at 97% full must delete stuff and cannot take more photos, (2) provide a proper fix for error 1110 and (3) provide a simple phone recovery environment to allow people to backup their data and/or delete unnecessary apps to free up space. Apple could also store full size photos on the iCloud and provide a smaller image on the phone with an option to download the large size image when needed to give everyone more storage space easily.
Yesterday has been incredibly stressful for me dealing with this issue that should not have happened (due to poor implementation / handling of storage full condition). It has probably taken days if not weeks off my life from the stress.
Reading on the internet there are 1,000s of others with the same issue of storage full and losing precious memories and important data. It is very terrible this should be happening when it could easily be avoided by software handling the situation before it happens and provide a resolution to solve it in case it does happen.
