iPad 4 iCloud not verifying

Hi

ive got an iPad 4 on iOS 10.3.3 but when I try to log in to my iCloud on it comes up with an error that says verification failed. Having looked online in forums I can see some stuff that says apple has stopped allowing iCloud on older iPads. But I also have an iPad mini that runs older 9.3.5 and that still works fine. Also the device meets the minimum as stated on the apple website

Minimum system requirements by feature. To use iCloud, you need at least iOS 5 on iPhone 3GS, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPad or iPad mini, or at least OS X Lion 10.7. 5 on a Mac.

so I’m unsure why it isn’t working unless apple has a issue with their servers? I’ve tried fixs already including the one relating to ensuring time settings are correct.

any advice?

many thanks

I actually have a couple iPad 4s and neither of them verify on either mine or my partners Apple ID.

Each Apple device is linked/associated with an Apple ID of the person who did the setup.

Activation Lock prevents anyone who is not the owner from using this iPhone.

To unlock the Phone, you need the Apple ID and password of the previous owner, that were used during set up.

If it is an iPad with a SIM card, check the range of the mobile network, see this Apple article: If you see No Service or Searching on your iPhone or iPad

Check also the Wi-Fi network, see the following Apple articles:
