Hello, I want to change the apple id for my e-mail, which is now called as an alias by Apple. When I try, it keeps saying that it cannot be done because of technical error. No other reason is shown. I've tried to change the main ID (at first, it was my old Gmail account, now I changed it to other private e-mail address not associated with Apple at all) - but it keeps saying that I can't set my Apple's iCloud e-mail as an Apple ID. It's a new account, have I to wait some time before I will try to change that or it's an error which cannot be avoided and I can't set my e-mail address created on iCloud's e-mail using my apple ID from gmail?

If this is an iCloud address that you created after you originally created your Apple ID, you can't use that iCloud address as your Apple ID email address for 30 days

Note the restrictions in the article.

Make sure you turn of Find My Phone before signing out of the old ID. Once signed out and Find My Phone is off, then sign in with the new ID, then turn Find My Phone back on.
