Whats app makes the hang up noise randomly when I am not in a call

Recently my whatsapp has been hanging up randomly to non existent calls. I could be watching tv and suddenly hear the whatsapp hang up sound, it happens often. I find it very odd and I’m scared I might be hacked or something like that. Whenever I video call someone it also makes the hang up noise twice. I don’t see any reason as to why I’d be hacked but I want to know why it happens. Ty!

I am using an iphone 8 with ios 14.0
