why don't I see the + icon in Spotlight?

I want to search my MBP for files. modified today. Directions for Spotlight suggest that's possible, but I don't see the layout on my computer that is shown in the spotlight directions.

Finder does not show path and icon of a file in a particular drive When I try to search for a file, finder does not show it's icon and it's path in "path bar". I can not preview the file too. Search in finder in a folder blocked on Spotlight I have a folder that I don't want to show on Spotlight search (command+space), so I added it on the privacy section of Spotlight on system preferences. But now when I'm in that folder on Finder, I can't search for any file, which defeats the purpose of using Finder to... find a file. Is there any way to solve this?

Try searching in Finder – Command F.

Hi,

Go to System Preferences > Spotlight > Privacy and the + should be there.
