Monterey Safari DRM still a no go.

It truly boggles the mind one cannot play content from Apple TV on Safari 15.4 (17613.1.17.1.13) or thru the Apple TV app but no problem on firefox. It is quite frankly shameful.

Last year I opened up a ticket with Apple Support (101573690547): the problem in addition to the one above, was I could not view my purchased iTunes movies from the Apple TV app on my 2019 4K iMac (NO external monitor) running Big Sur. Thirty seconds in, the video blacks out but audio remains. We tried everything with the CSR, even sending in a diagnostics report. Final suggestion from her was the next version of macOS would certainly fix it.

Guess what, nothing in Monterey is fixed: I still can't watch Apple TV+ content off Safari or the app and still cannot view my movies. Posting this here in case someone has a new solution before I ring up AS. clearly this iMac's panel trips up HDCP/DRM.

Major Issues:

Anything that appears on this list needs immediate attention.

Kernel panics - This system has experienced kernel panics. This could be a sign of hardware failure.

disk0 - APPLE SSD SM0512L 500.28 GB (Solid State - TRIM: Yes)

Reading further in the report and must ask - the this computer Operating System being run from an External Drive ?

Unsigned files - There are unsigned software files installed. These files could be old, incompatible, and cause problems. They should be reviewed.

The Little Snitch is not helping either

Try booting to Safe Mode. That boot up takes minutes and clears caches and other things that may resolve your problem.

How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support

Does this still occur in Safe Mode?

A lot of times just boot to Safe Mode followed by normal boot resolves problems.

If no problem in Safe Mode but problem returns after a normal boot that mean something is being loaded during a normal boot that is causing the problem.

Ok, quite the homework but here goes:

Tried the test account: no go, still unplayable in Safari and get HDCP error in Apple TV app.

As mentioned above, in safe Mode I cannot get any video to play.

I do not have any of the apps indicated and turned off remote management.

Here is the EtreCheck log

Note that the TV app crash happens in Safe Mode.

Thanks for your help.
