iphone SE first generation sim is locked after ios update to 15.4.1 was not locked before update. carrier & service it says is unknownnow the imei checker says it is At & t.

hello Apple Community, I have a iphone se first generation. before buying it I checked the imei & it was clean & unlocked. for set up, I tried the putting the phones together to transfer the information. my other iphone is a 6s, that has software version 14.6 & it is also unlocked, & upon competion my it says software version 15.4.1, & the iPhone SE is sim locked. please help me. can i just go back to the previous ios? I am a novice & do not know how to do these iphones very well. I looked online & it said something about plugging into a computer, I wish it was something easier, I guess thr computer route looked not too bad if I can stop the update after getting the 14.? or 14.6? install but then it goes on about data, I have no personal data because I just bought the iphone se. I was only trying to set it up. it has no sim card as well. I did my check at free imei checker for iphones, then I also checked for cloud lock. the cloud lock was good then, & it is a-ok, not locked now, but again the sim is now locked. I do not know why. it was unlocked before I bought it, I could see the imei number in the pictures, & I checked it before I bought the iphone SE first generation. I am hoping someone can please help me. I can give a landline number if you like. thank you Apple Community. sorry about the length of this question.

hi, thank you for your response. I have xfinity here at home & the se has it on. no roaming. I am pretty sure at&t is around here as well, + they have a store in this town. I have a sim tool, i will, l check the iphone SE to see, + if I can put in a master code / sim pin will have to read instruction fort this very carefully. the email I received from AT T says I must use the phone for 6 months, the rep said that as well...I have never had AT&T as my carrier. wonder why I am suppose to use it, I never asked for them in the first place, & bought the iphone on the Mercari website. getting At&t for six months is about 200.00, more thank 4 times what I even paid for the iphone SE. here is what I received from AT&T.
