I use my airpods 3 in midnight, when I put it in the charging case the battery of both airpods is around 90%, when I open the lid on the next day , the left airpods is 100% but the right airpods is always low battery. Why is this happening?

Also , sometime I open the lid I see the right airpods battery is 20%, a few moment later I open again the lid to check the battey will become 80% or 100% sometimes . Is this broken of my airpods 3? It purchase on February 2022 , Please help

With the AirPods connected to your iPhone try turning off Settings/Bluetooth/AirPods/Optimized Battery Charging. I have found it does funky things to the charging process for the AirPods. Its' supposed to stop the charging at 80% till the system "thinks" you are ready to use them. It works well for maintaining the iPhones battery. But I find when used with the AirPods one may charge off the other draining one AirPod. Usually you can kick start the charging by removing the lower charged pod and replacing it back into the case. They usually charge both fully when the "Optimized" process restarts the charging process. They appear to charge as normal to 100% with the Optimize setting turned off.

I turned the setting back on and learned to work with it hoping it will preserve the AirPod batteries and lengthen their life span a little longer.

Hi keong8867,

Thank you for posting in Apple Support Communities! Since noticing that your AirPods were not charging equally and completely, have they been reset? To reset them, place both in the case and close the lid for about 30 seconds, Then, open the lid, press and hold the setup button in the back of the case for about 15 seconds until the status light flashes amber then white. Once that's complete, you should charge and monitor your AirPods to see if this continues.

Hi Trish313 , thank you for your reply. I have try your method to reset my AirPods 3. But my airpods seems like the battery showing is not stable . After I reset the airpods , I connect again to my iphone , it showing the both airpods battery is 86%. I close the lid and I open again after a few minute , it become left airpods 86% , the right airpods 10%. Then I close the lid and let it charge. After 5 minute I open and the battery become 86% again. I dont know what is the problem, is it the battery problem or it is the garget problem in my iphone.

Hi keong8867,

The issue could be either the charging case or the AirPods. It's hard to completely tell at this point via Apple Support Communities. Apple Stores can repair/replace products at their discretion. We recommend using the previous link provided to reach out to them.

Take care.
