Design flaw?

I have the same problem with everybody else. The Face ID just stopped working suddenly. It’s been almost a year now and it’s so inconvenient without it. Took my phone to the APPLE shop 2 times, and they checked. Repairing will cost half the price of the phone! Ridiculous! If this is happening to so many people, why Apple won’t admit it is a design flaw? I mean it can be, right?
