Thin black line across Macbook Pro Screen (2021, 14-inch)

I put my laptop to sleep after watching youtube by closing the lid, then 20 minutes later opened it to find this thin black line across it. There is no damage to the screen and the line does not appear from screenshots or using a second screen by HDMI.

I have booked a genius bar appointment, but I really can't go without my laptop for a week if it needs repairs. What in the actual **** is this? I have tried steps to reset SMC, but nothing. This laptop is 1 month old.

MacBook Pro 14″, macOS 12.3

There is no SMC on a M1...

This would indicate a display/display assembly/projector cable fault...

Screen shots and external monitor come directly from the GPU bypassing the internal display.

The current stable release of Monterey is macOS 12.3.1
