AirPods 3 adaptive eq slow

I just got the AirPods 3, it sounds great, but is it normal that the eq is adjusting when first use out of the case or changing apps? For example when I use Apple Music and change to instagram or YouTube the AirPods sounds muffled ( high bass)

and it takes 3-10 seconds to adjust the sound.

is it normal that the adaptive eq is so slow to adjust?

Hey there Hi Yargu,

One last item to test out. We'd like you to check this out: Control Spatial Audio and head tracking. We'd want to see if Spacial Audio had been activated. You can check this setting:

  1. "Wear your AirPods, and make sure they’re connected to your device.
  2. On your iPhone or iPad, go to Settings  > Bluetooth.
  3. In the list of devices, tap the Actions Available button next to your AirPods, then tap Spatial Audio."

We've found this in the guide that has been provided. The reason why we're asking is because you might be going to a site that has Spacial Audio (Apple Music) to a site that doesn't. The rule generally is that the settings remain the same, but it might take a moment to adjust if this feature isn't available on the site. If it's been enabled, disable it then test it out.

If this is not enabled, and you still notice that adjustment, you'd want to contact Apple Support. They can work further with you to see why this is happening.

Kind regards.

Hi Yargu,

As the sound from your AirPods is not clear at first or when switching apps, if you are using an iPhone, ensure it is up to date: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Settings > General > Software Update > You'll see if your iOS device is up to date.

For a Mac, Apple  Logo > System Preferences > Software update > You'll see if a macOS update is needed: Update macOS on Mac - Apple Support

If it continues, isolate this by testing it on a different device to see if it continues there: Set up AirPods with your Mac and other Bluetooth devices.

Hope this helps.

Have a good day.
