I am using a new M8 monitor with my M1 mac mini. I can. not control the volume (I am using the M8s internal speakers) or the brightness using my magic keyboard. Anybody else having a similar problem either the M8 or another monitor?

Thanks… hadn’t tried that yet. Unfortunately it didn’t work either.
Any answers yet, I get the same issue. Would have thought a monitor should be able to have its speakers controlled. But that was just me making assumptions.
Ive not paid anything for it. And appears to work. Seems to create a “virtual” display, and this can then have its volume controlled.
I think you have missed the issue. Trying to control using the mac keyboard. Not the supplied remote.

Hope Samsung offers update soon. I want to control volume and brightness with the Apple Keyboard not with Samsung remote.
