iPad 2 (9.3.5 MC989LL/a) No longer finding Wi-Fi

When clicking the Wi-Fi in "settings", iPad searches but finds no networks. Also does not find my iPhone Hotspot.

Also can not Reset (Erase All Content and Settings), because i am unable to connect to the Apple ID server, to complete the Apple ID Password safeguard.

Did the Wi-Fi antenna burn out? Is that a Thing lol?

Any suggestions before I trash it?

Thanks!

For iPad models with a Home button, do a simple hard reset of your iPad by holding down both the Home and sleep/wake/power button simultaneously until your iPad goes to black and restarts with Apple logo, then release the buttons.

See if this helps.

An iPad 2 is an over 11-year old iPad model and is very old and considered obsolete.

Hardware issues with such an old iPad can happen.
