A colleague has an iMac which often but randomly opens Launchpad and she has to hit the ESC key to turn it off again.
We've checked System Preferences > Keyboard > Shortcuts > Launchpad and Dock > Show launchpad and it is already unchecked; so it shouldn't be possible to accidentally activate it.
She doesn't want to use Launchpad at all so we're just trying to disable it completely.
How can we achieve this?

Just to add, some older Apple Keyboards have a hard wired key (F4) that opens Launchpad. The preference setting has no effect on it.

Hmm. I've not heard of Karabiner-Elements before so I'll look into that. Thank you.
It seems a bit extreme having to use a third-party application to disable a macOS 'feature' but that might be the only option.
Make sure she doesn't have the Launchpad icon in the Dock and is accidentally clicking on it.
Well, if it's an Intel iMac it may have the Launchpad key, in which case, Karabiner-Elements can disable it.
How about a Mission Control Hot Corner?

Yes, it was removed from the dock so it can't be accidentally clicked. :-)
Then beats me. I have it enabled and have never had it open randomly. Normal or Extended Apple Keyboard? Or a third-party keyboard?

Apple Magic Keyboard with a brand new iMac.
Brand new as in a 24" M1 iMac? If so, it doesn't have the Launchpad Key.
I'm not sure. It was bought in 2022 but I don't have it here right now to check :-)
