Contacts Beach Ball

This is not a transient problem. It has existed for over 10 years!. I tend to own 4-8 apple devices at a time. Phones are most robust, but top memory and chip selection, MacBooks, MacBook Pros seem the worst. I have dealth with the problem over many a IOS and OS upgrade, repair and device replacement. People still complain about it online. I guess I am joining in hopes that Apple chooses either to rebuild this app, make it more robust (I keep about 20,000 contacts) or fix the core problem. Over a decade is too long. I have taken my devices in, purchased and replaced, started new devices without migrating, emptied contacts and rebuilt. I have spent hours on multipe calls on Applecare. This is core and needs to be addressed. Does anyone know a good alternative contact solution that plays well with Apple suites?
