That whirring sound is your fan trying to cool it down. For some reason, your usage of the Pinterest site is causing your Mac to work very hard.

Thank you for your reply. It does not happen every single time, but when it does, it's concerning. I wonder why it happens.
Lots of things can cause your system to start to work hard. Does it happen only when playing high res videos? Lots of tabs open? Any idea what has increased your work load?
