I tried doing some of the things that you had sent but I'm not that computer literate and soI'm not sure what error 306 means so I don't know what to do. I did add a new printer - it keeps saying it's idle but when I click resume it just comes back with this error so I guess I need to get an answer to that. I may try to call Apple tomorrow and see if they can help me or else Canon USA and they can walk me through it because I'm afraid I've already downloaded too many things. Thanks for your help Jan
