blank screen

I went to use my Mac and the screen is blank. All I have is my mouse pointer and my keyboard. I know the battery is charged. Is there a way to reboot the system. It seems like it’s frozen with no then but my mouse pointer.

Hi,

Hold down the power button for about 10 seconds until your Mac shuts down, then try to start up.
