AIFF file stops playing when screen turns off

Playing music on iphone 11 pro max (iOS v15.4.1), the Music app plays WAV, AAC and AIFF just fine when the screen is on, but stops playing the AIFF file when the screen is turned off. Both WAV and AAC play with the screen off.

This has happened for wuite a while and I just gave up pmaying my hi-res songs and hoped that it would be fixed by Apple, but it still happens and I've tried all sorts of suggestions short of keeping my screen active forever.

just thought I'd ask the community and see if anyone else has seen such behavior.

Thank you for posting to Apple Support Communities.

Often times removing the synced songs from your iPhone and then syncing them again can help resolve these types of issues. Sometimes a file may be corrupted and deleting it and resyncing can help resolve this. Here's how to do this:

Delete music on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Android device

1. Open the Apple Music app.

2. Go to Library and tap Downloaded to see your downloads. On your iPad, tap Downloaded in the sidebar.

3. Find the song, album, or music video that you want to remove.

4. Touch and hold the item, then tap Remove.

5. Tap Remove Download to remove the item from only this device. Or tap Delete from Library to delete the item across all of your devices.
