possibility of turning off wrist flick gesture to show time?

I have recently acquired an apple watch series 7 and loving it so far, one question I do have though is if there is the ability to turn off the wrist flick to show time gesture, in most cases it is not a problem, but I am trying to use a metronome app with haptic feedback to indicate the tempo, I am also a drummer, trying to play at the same time as using the metronome leads the metronome to pause when the time overlay appears, any way around this?
