Watch 2-finger time night mode

I can touch 2 fingers to my Apple Watch during the day and it will audibly tell me the time. But the only times that I really care to hear the time is at night when I'm mostly asleep and not wearing my glasses.

But when my watch is in night mode, I have not been able to get it to speak the time.

Is there a setting I'm missing?
