Messages on Monterey not deleting when deleted on iOS ( iPhone ) but Monterey deletions are deleted on iOS

I have a Mac Book running Monterey 12.3.1 and a iPhone running iOS 15.4.1.The devises are both saving messages in the cloud. If I read or delete a message on my iPhone it will not appear to be read or deleted on my Mac. If it is read or deleted on the Mac it WILL delete on the iPhone and show as read. I have toggled the share to the cloud on and off, rebooted, made sure the wifi networks are the same but no resolution. I have hunted and searched but no solution can be found.
