MacBook Air - Shift key

I am facing a problem lately with the shift key on my Mac, once I press it it keep in hold for a few minutes to let me using the keyboard normally back ( I just press one time like while I’m typing to capitalize a letter or use a symbol then it keeps it pressed so when I press on letters it typed capitalized and when I press on numbers it types symbols ..etc)

and for now it’s on hold from 2 days and I couldn’t fix it even when u restart and shutdown first i couldn’t log in back because of a failure in typing my password but after few hours I could open it and it return to that situation.. what should I do? Or how could I fix it without losing the data?

How ? this is a MacBook air laptop not iMac and what could be the cause of this damage? is it like a software problem or what ?

Actually laptops are where keyboard damage mostly occurs. It's hard to know the possible cause. You can connect an external keyboard to test it via bluetooth or cable I think.

I've never heard of a software problem that would cause the behavior you describe.
