Email not received on my icloud mail address

Hi Apple Support Team

For years now, some emails never make it to my @icloud.com email address.

There is a pattern to these, they are all automatic emails. Most of the time they are related to verification codes sent by various web services.

Recently that was an email that contained the instructions relative to my Airbnb reservation that didn't make it to my mailbox, even tho the owner of that Airbnb repeatedly send them.

Some years ago I asked one of the web services why I wasn't receiving the verification code to log in to their platform. The customer support told me that it was probably caused by my @icloud.com email address. That they had several customers reporting the same issue. I asked customer support to update my email address to use my @gmail.com email address and I could then receive the verification code.

That's why I believe I am not the only one facing this issue.

I would like to continue using this @icloud.com email address since I have been using it for years to create accounts on all the web services I have been using. I don't really want to dig into all of them and update to my @gmail.com.

Thank you for reading my complaint and hope you have a solution to this problem.

Kind regards,

Steven.

Let the Apple ID say example1@icloud.com be signed in Mac system preferences , you can add mail address say example2 @gmailcom in internet accounts .

Use your Internet accounts on Mac - Apple SupportUse your Internet accounts on Mac – Apple Support (AU)

Change Internet Accounts preferences on Mac - Apple Supportsupport.apple.com › en-in › guide › mac-help › mac

Add an internet account - Apple Supportsupport.apple.com › guide › mac-help › mac

Make sure the password should not be reused , for Apple ID ending with iCloud.com the rescue mail address and its password should not be same or should be exactly the mail address say example2@gmail.com

The rescue mail address is always added in the Apple ID account , sign in with Apple ID account , if it's not yet added create a web mail account say with gmail service .

Make sure this mail address and password should be totally different than your Apple ID address / password see the section of rescue mail address in this article About your Apple ID email addresses - Apple Support in the same Mac open a new tab ( press command and T keys ) sign in with your gmail account here in the web mail account you will see this code , come to the old tab in which apple id account is already opened , fill up the code in the fields and click on done to save .

@tygb Thanks for helping me out.

  • My iCloud storage is good, I have 86,1 Gb of free space, so I don't think that's the issue.
  • Most of the emails that I don't receive are verification codes ones, so I don't think they weigh a lot either.
  • Since I am using the official Email apps, I can't change the settings, they are automatically handle by the app since macOS Mail in 10.7.4
  • I noticed that here they say Mail server settings for iCloud email clients - Apple Support (IN) that iCloud does not support POP, that could be the issue, maybe?
  • I haven't blocked any of the senders I am expected emails from nor did I set filter rules (I checked)
  • Neither Troubleshoot email problems in Mail on Mac - Apple Support nor If iCloud Mail isn't working - Apple Support was of any help. I have this issues for years, none of the reason details there can explain the problem. I still receive emails, just some never arrives.

After seeing that iCloud doesn't support the POP protocol I am wondering if that couldn't be it?
