MacBook can't get past the hotel login page

I actually work for a hotel and don't own a MacBook but I've searched high and low for a solution that actually works and I have failed. Often times, when a guest has an issue with our Wi-Fi, they are trying to use an Apple product. 99% of the time I can figure it out but not this time. A guest brought their MacBook down to show me the issue. When she connects to the Wi-Fi, it pops up with the login page. However, it doesn't go past that. It kind of freezes and flashes the blank login page. I have tried every trick I have found online except for deleting DNS servers, which I couldn't figure out how to do. When we pull up Safari, it will load the hotel's website but not Apple.com. The guest gave up but I would like to know other tricks I can try for future guests, given that I have this issue again. TIA!

Good question—

trying a different browser is a good first step (should always have more than one browser...)

The most popular "trick" is to launch a browser and enter the numeric IP address in the search bar:

1.1.1.1

You get the hotels login page, and it should proceed once logged in to show CloudFlare* splash page.

*CloudFlare in not part of the solution in this case -- they just have the absolute simplest numeric IP address. Since it does not require a DNS lookup (like Apple.com to its IP address) Readers report they get straight through -- in your case, to the Hotel login -- without anything getting blocked.
