Find my ipad mini

My ipad mini is lost. My devices list says, "Home April 27, 2022, at 5:22 PM". When Play Sound is selected it stays activated for about 10 seconds. Is it trying to preserve the battery? Is the IPAD mini pinging for those 10 seconds? Thanks for your help. Rich
