says it charged to 100% but is only 50% in battery settings

That I bought a brand new iPod touch 7 on Thursday and set it up on Friday. I started by fully charging it. Or so it said. It took about as long as my phone so I didn’t question it. However the percentage decreased rapidly so I checked the battery page in settings. According to that it only charged to 50%. And no option to check battery health. Any ideas?

Hello Glamzar,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. We'd like to ask some questions to isolate this issue further:

  • Which iOS version is installed on your iPod? Settings > General > About.
  • Are you experiencing this behavior when using an Apple branded charger? Let's try to test using another charger.
  • Does the issue persist when turning the "Low Power Mode" off?

Please check out this helpful link:

We hope this information is useful. Kind regards.
