Wired Ipad pro 2021 & Airpod Max

What cable(s) do I need to run the Headphones in wired mode to an Ipad Pro 2021 bearing in mind that the socket on an iPad pro is 'C' type (Thunderbolt) and not Lightning. I have only seen Ligntning to 3.5mm jack cables plus the 3.5 to lightning which will fit into the APM headphones.

Thunderbolt and Lightning very very frightening.

Many thanks in advance.

Andy.

Good day to you Dreadnought123,

You could try using the USB-C to Lightning Cable (1 m) - Apple, making note that this one is not labeled for just charging so it supports more than charging. However, keep in mind that from the following article on how to connect AirPods Max it specifically states, "plug a Lightning to 3.5 mm Audio Cable into your AirPods Max to use them in wired mode." Connect and use your AirPods Max.

Thanks.

Hi, Andy

According to this resource, "USB-C to 3.5 mm Headphone Jack Adapter

The USB-C to 3.5 mm Headphone Jack Adapter lets you connect 3.5 mm headphones and other audio devices to a USB-C port.

Plug your USB-C to 3.5 mm Headphone Jack Adapter into the USB-C port on your device and plug the other end into your headphones." Use Apple headphones with your iPhone, iPad, and iPod

Are you able to test a different adapter?

Best wishes.

Thanks for your reply, yes I've tried that before I came here as it seems to be a logical thing to do but this does not work and Apple verified this elsewhere that it wouldn't.

That cable does data as it states but only on the actual phone or ipad for data synch but not audio in this situation. I do need the Lightning to 3.5mm adaptor which I have but thats where the problem lies, I cannnot see a way to connect to the headphones audio side to the C type provided in the ipad. It works for the Lightning on the iphone to the headphones.

I'm not giving up though.

Many thanks again for replying.
