iPhone lag while swiping

I’ve noticed that there is lag every time I swipe on my iphone. For example pulling the main menu, swiping through home pages, the opening apps animation and swiping through apps. The phone is running iOS 14.3 and it’s a brand new iPhone X

When noticing issues with the display of your iPhone, you'll want to complete the troubleshooting steps listed below. You can also find these steps outlined in the following article. These steps are specific to resolving issues with display sensitivity.


  1. "Restart your iPhone or iPad.
  2. Make sure that your screen is clean and free of any debris or water.
  3. Disconnect any Lightning or USB-C accessories. If your screen works after removing an accessory, try using a different outlet, cable, or charger.
  4. Remove any cases or screen protectors."


If the screen isn't working on your iPhone or iPad


In addition to those steps, you'll want to update iOS. There have been several updates since iOS 14.3 which may help with resolving this issue. For reference, those steps are outlined in the following article.

Troubleshooting a Lagging iPhone:

System resources a likely being swollen up, so to speak. So, start with clearing space. Try the following:


I. Cool Down the iPhone:

For a few hours, perform the following...

  • Power Off: the iPhone for a bit
  • Unplug: any Cables
  • Place it Atop: a Laptop Cooler
  • Keep it in: an open space
  • Keep it Out of: direct sunlight


II. Clear Space:

Having little empty space can heat things up. So, here is what to perform...

A. Clear Temporary Internet Files:

Clear your Temporary Internet Files(Cookies & Cache) of Safari:


Also...

B. Clean TV and Music Libraries:

Remove all unneeded files from your TV and Music Libraries. Full-Movies take up 2-4GB typically, and a bunch of those would take up a load of storage, ideally. So, if you have any movies that are not needed, then delete them.


Also...

C. Clear "Other":

Clear the storages named "Other". It basically contains unnecessary files such as caches that are used for system ease of use - all of which gather over time: How to Clear "Other" in your iPhone's Storage - Use Backup - User Tips. Caches would be being used for remembrance of application use.
