Macbook Pro 2011 can't send sound through Mini DisplayPort - No Option to Choose TV

I have a Macbook Pro 13" Early 2011 and I am trying to send audio/video to my TV TCL but all the settings recommended to activate the audio can't be performed because in the options of audio I only have "Internal Speakers" and Air Play for Kitchen TV (Another TV). Video goes through normally the adapter Mini DisplayPort to HDMI but no sound and even on Audio MIDI Setup it is not showing option of HDMI.

Anyone can help? Thank you.

Hi filipefromcarcavelos,

It looks like you've been following the correct steps to connect your MacBook Pro 13" Early 2011 to your TV via a third-party Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter.

Are these the steps you've been following to troubleshoot?

If your display isn't recognized
If your Mac doesn't recognize your HDTV, display, or other HDMI device after making the connection:
1. Turn off the HDMI device while your Mac is turned on.
2. Unplug the HDMI cable from your Mac, then plug it in again.
3. Turn on the HDMI device.

If your HDMI device isn't receiving audio
If your HDMI device isn't receiving audio from your Mac:
• Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Sound. In the Output pane, make sure that your HDMI device is selected.
• If you're connecting using a Mini DisplayPort adapter, make sure that your Mac can send audio over Mini DisplayPort.
• If you're connecting from a Mac mini, unplug any audio device that is plugged into your computer's Audio-Out port.
System Preferences - Sound Output
Mac computers don't support using CEC (Consumer Electronics Control) to control HDMI devices.

Take care!
