Bluetooth broken since IOS 13.5 and STILL doesn't work properly on my 2006 Audi A4

I have an ongoing problem with my iPhone SE2 running 15.4.1. I connect the iphone with my

car (2006 Audi A4), with bluetooth, and when I make a call everything is ok but in the

middle of the conversation the bluetooth has disconnected from the car. I

reset the settings and its the same. I had the same problem with my previous phone and support told me it was a phone problem. I ended up buying the SE2, it worked, then when I upgraded the OS to the current version (13.5 iirc) to reinstall my backup from the old phone (but before I reinstalled the backup), it 'broke' again, just like my previous phone had. Obviously not the phone but instead the OS changed something in Bluetooth. Support subsequently acknowledged that this was a known issue with Bluetooth in some older cars (phone does work ok in 2015 Subaru) and would be fixed in an upcoming version of OS. Well... 1 3/4 years later STILL have this issue. Audi says no update for Bluetooth for my car is available and put it back on Apple. Can't find an answer to this, really ticks me off that they broke something that worked fine, know about it and haven't resolved it. Anybody out there have a fix?

My Bluetooth to my 2012 car has always worked perfectly through 3 phones and every version of iOS, which kind of negates the idea that it’s a problem with “older cars”, so it’s likely that the problem is in your car or your phone. Have you tried deleting the phone from the car’s system, forgetting the car in Settings/Bluetooth, rebooting both the car and the phone, and pairing them again?

My car is six years older than yours Lawrence... the user interface in the car I suspect is different and there is no overt way (that I'm aware of) to delete the bluetooth connections. Audi told me that up to four connections are in memory and if i connect more phones it eliminates the older connections. I have done that with friends' phones but has not changed my situation after reconnecting my phone with the car. If there is another car-side technique that applies for my car I'd love to hear it...
