cant preview mp3's directly from the finder
I'm unable to preview my files by pressing spacebar to hear each sound. Now quicktime must be opened to play it. Anyone know what this is about?

So this has been going on for six months with apple. Ever since an update of theirs in November 2021, it's not easy to preview just by pressing the spacebar. It's EXTREMELY frustrating. So far the only workaround I've found is go into launchpad, open up activity monitor, and stop anything that says quicklook. You have to do this every time you restart your computer.

Rather hitting spacebar or clicking on the play icon, nothing happens.
Maybe there is some add-on on your system causing this. An EtreCheck report would be good way to troubleshoot this.

I can’t replicate your issue on my Mac.
Have you tried an unrelated different set of audio files as well, in case there’s something unusual about these .wav files.
thus far, it appears to effect all audio files on the device as well as external hard drives.
im also unable to preview video files using the same method.
Try if safe-boot fixes this.
