if iphone is corrupted

I think my last iphone may have a virus. I have a new iphone now. Should I back up the data to cloud for download onto my new phone or should I just start over from scratch?

iPhone 6s, iOS 15

There are no known viruses in the wild that can infect an iPhone that is not jailbroken.

That said, if there is corruption or something causing a problem, it may be contained in a backup.

There is nothing that could cause a problem in data synced to iCloud such as contacts, calendars, etc.
