Battery drain since iOS 15.5

Hi, sorry for the late update but I was vacationing and other stuff. As I wrote in my earlier note we had two iPhones with significant battery drain immediately after IOS 15.5 update. I tried everything I could think of on the iPhone 8 including deleting all 3rd part apps and resetting the iPhone (actually Erase all Content and Setting). None of this fixed my iPhone 8 and I gave up on/about July 17. Surprisingly, roughly two days later both the IPhone 8 and iPhone 12 started behaving normally. Once again we were both able to get a full day on a single charge. All together we suffered about a week with battery drain.

I can only surmise the Apple discussions advising we just give it time to reorganize was the ultimate fix. The follow link is the discussion I reference.

I just want to note I spent over 40 years in the IT world so I think I took a pretty organized approach to troubleshooting and avoided the hope and poke approach. If you are contemplating a new iPhone as I was please consider giving it a little time to resolve.

The developer hub can be reached in two ways; one is through developer.apple.com and then reported to the forums. The second way is if you have a Beta Profile downloaded to your phone. When you enter the Beta profile, you will have a app downloaded automatically that has an exclamation point titled 'Feedback Assistant' where you can report bugs or performance issues for Apple themselves to review and take into account for the next Developer Release and eventually the next official iOS update.

To everyone having the same issue,

I too have an iPhone 13 Pro and the battery health is down to 95% just 9 months into ownership. Apple has attempted to fix the first iteration of this problem with 15.2 and it appears that this issue has returned to affect other users of the new iPhone line. Apple has, however, the final iOS 15 update in the works in 15.6 and if this issue is reported to the Developer Hub or through Apple Support this issue may get logged and included in the fixes for 15.6. That is my suggestion to this thread that has grown with common themes and responses.

My phone just received the 15.5 update and I wish I hadn’t! My battery barely lasts looking up something on the internet or checking email. If I am in a app it drains quickly within minutes. It also keeps losing the wifi signal at home and work when previously no issues. Have tried the suggested fixes and checking background usage. Restarted twice already. Any advice?

I have 13 pro max. Switched from 15.3.1 to 15.5. Battery lasts about 20% less. Phone feels warm while just checking e-mail. Phone overheats while just safaring in the sunlight, It even dims the brightness. This update made me Really unhappy with my new device :(

Safest way is to use the Beta Profiles for iOS and then utilize the Feedback Assistant app. I cannot speak about downgrading software in the safest way, as it appears there is no option to downgrade on the iPhone itself and it will be difficult from iTunes standpoint as well.

My phone’s battery is draining after the update to 15.5 im currently using iPhone 12 mini

After i updated my 1 month old iPhone 13 pro max to iOS 15.5 my battery is draining really fast… apple needs to do something about this..

I’m having exactly the same issue on iPad since I accidentally let apple update automatically to 15.5

I don’t have auto app refresh on anyway so that’s not causing it

I’ve also noticed that my amazon branded lightning connector no longer charges my iPad - it did before the upgrade and it still works on my iPhone (which I have not upgraded)

• any solutions to the battery issue
• can i uninstall 15.5 and go back to 15.4
• anyone else experience this issue with Amazon lightning connectors

Mine dropped by 7% after updating to IOS15.5... This is so heart breaking.. my phone is only 50days old.. Now its having 93% battery health.. Called Apple care, They are telling that if your battery health dropped to 79% within an year

, they are gonna replace it for free.. But I don't want them to do surgery on my new phone😢😢
