Small white arrow iMac desktop
There is a small white down arrow on my desktop that doesn't seem to be doing anything? Any ideas what this is? Doesn't move if I change the desktop image or restar my iMac... but concerned
iMac 24″, macOS 12.3

Hi laurenfwigmore,
If you'd like to figure out why a downward pointing arrow displays in your Mac menu bar, these steps might help.
You mentioned restarting your computer, but what happens if you click on the arrow; do you get any options? If so, does that give you a hint to the app or accessory that could be causing the arrow to display in your menu bar?
If you look through your installed apps, do any of them have an icon that is similar to an arrow or have to do with downloading items? You can look through your apps by using the steps here Use Launchpad to view and open apps on Mac.
Do you have a hard disk or another device connected to your Mac? You can check out See the devices connected to your Mac to see if there are any external devices connected to your Mac that could be causing this icon to appear.
Let the community know what you find when you investigate.
We hope that helps with your question and take care!

Thanks for your answer. Clicking on the arrow did nothing. But since I posted the question it's disappeared! Not sure what did it...
Having the same issue. Did you figure out what it was?
No, I didn't it just disappeared on its own.
